This Refund & Cancellation Policy explains the terms applicable to enquiries, quotations and consultancy services offered by Palkan Marine Services Private Limited (“Palkan Marine”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) through https://palkanmarine.com.
Palkan Marine is a marine consultancy providing services such as ship chartering and broking, ship registration, crew documentation, and inspections, audits and advisory. We provide professional services only and do not sell or ship physical goods.
1. Website enquiries
Submitting an enquiry through our Website is free of charge and does not constitute a purchase, booking or contractual agreement. Any enquiry submitted through our contact or careers forms is considered a request for information or a quotation only.
2. Engagement of services
Our services are commissioned only after:
- written confirmation of scope and fees by Palkan Marine;
- acceptance of the quotation, proposal or engagement letter by the client; and
- any applicable advance, retainer or purchase/work order, where required.
Cancellation and refund terms for any engagement are governed by the specific quotation, proposal, engagement letter or service agreement entered into between the parties. Where those terms differ from this Policy, the signed agreement prevails.
3. Cancellation of services
Clients wishing to cancel a service request or ongoing engagement should contact us in writing as soon as possible. Cancellation requests are subject to:
- the stage of the engagement and the work already performed;
- time, resources and professional effort already committed;
- third-party, statutory or government charges already incurred or committed on the client’s behalf (for example flag-state, registration or authority fees); and
- any contractual obligations agreed between the parties.
Cancellation charges may apply to the extent that fees, costs or professional effort have already been incurred.
4. Refunds
As our services are provided to commercial and business clients, refunds are not automatically available. Where a refund is approved by Palkan Marine, it will be processed in accordance with the applicable agreement and subject to deductions for:
- work and professional services already performed;
- third-party, statutory or government charges already incurred or committed;
- applicable taxes and statutory levies; and
- any other deductions agreed in the engagement.
Where applicable, approved refunds will generally be processed within 7–15 business days through the original mode of payment, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
5. Non-refundable services
Services that have already been performed, and third-party or statutory fees that have already been paid or committed on the client’s behalf, are non-refundable. Bespoke deliverables prepared specifically for a client’s requirement — such as reports, documentation or certifications — are non-cancellable and non-refundable once prepared, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
6. Service concerns
If you believe a service has not been delivered in accordance with the agreed scope, please notify us promptly with the engagement details, a description of the concern and any other relevant information. Each case will be reviewed individually, and an appropriate resolution will be provided in accordance with the applicable agreement and governing law.
7. Force majeure
Palkan Marine shall not be responsible for delays, cancellations or inability to perform its obligations arising from events beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, government restrictions, port closures, labour disputes, supply-chain disruptions, acts of war or terrorism, pandemics or epidemics, and other unforeseen events.
8. Payments
Where an online payment facility is offered, payments are processed through third-party payment gateways. We do not store your full card details on our Website; all payment data are handled by the payment gateway in accordance with its own terms and security standards. As we provide services only, no physical goods are shipped or delivered.
9. Changes to this Policy
We reserve the right to update or modify this Refund & Cancellation Policy at any time. The latest version will always be available on this page with a revised “Last updated” date.
